Project Overview

This project involved building a secure, multi-tenant SaaS platform for small businesses to connect their bank accounts and visualize financial data in real-time. The goal was to replace cumbersome spreadsheets with an intuitive, interactive dashboard for cash flow analysis and reporting.

The Challenge

The client needed to handle highly sensitive financial data from multiple sources securely. The platform had to be incredibly fast, with interactive charts and data tables that could be filtered and updated instantly without refreshing the page.

Our Solution

MERN was the ideal stack for this data-intensive application.

• Frontend: We used React with data visualization libraries like D3.js and Chart.js to build a fully interactive dashboard. Users can drill down into expenses, track revenue trends, and generate custom reports.

• Backend: A secure Node.js API handles secure connections to third-party financial APIs (like Plaid) and manages all data aggregation. We used WebSockets for pushing live transaction updates to the user’s dashboard.

• Database: MongoDB’s document-based structure was perfect for storing varied transaction data from different financial institutions.

The Result

The platform successfully launched and onboarded over 500 businesses in its first six months. The intuitive UI allows business owners to gain financial insights instantly, saving them hours of manual work each week.
