PROJECT GOAL & CHALLENGE

Elysian, a luxury salon and spa, had a digital presence that did not align with their premium, in-person client experience. Their previous website was visually dated, not mobile-responsive, and lacked an integrated booking system, forcing clients to call to make appointments. The primary challenge was to create an elegant, high-end website that would streamline the booking process and visually represent the quality of their services, ultimately turning their online presence into a primary driver for new business.

MY STRATEGIC APPROACH

Before writing a single line of code, I mapped out a complete strategy focused on the target user—a client looking for a premium salon experience.

• Brand Emulation: The design needed to feel like an extension of the physical salon. I focused on a minimalist aesthetic with a refined color palette, elegant typography, and high-quality imagery to create a sense of calm and sophistication online.

• Frictionless Booking: The booking process had to be absolutely seamless. My goal was to allow a client to choose a service, select a stylist, and confirm an appointment in under 60 seconds, all from their mobile device.

• Empowering the Staff: I identified that the salon staff needed the ability to showcase their work easily. The solution required a simple backend system for them to upload photos to a style gallery without needing any technical training, keeping the site content fresh and authentic.

SOLUTION & KEY FEATURES

I engineered a complete digital solution by building a bespoke WordPress theme from scratch, focusing on aesthetics, functionality, and user experience.

• Sophisticated Custom Design: I designed a chic, minimalist interface in Figma that uses beautiful, high-resolution imagery and elegant typography. The custom theme is fully responsive and optimized for a flawless experience on any device, especially mobile, where most clients browse.

• Integrated Appointment Booking: The core feature is a deeply integrated booking system using the Bookly Pro plugin. I customized the entire front-end interface to match the site’s branding, allowing clients to easily select their desired service, stylist, and time slot without ever leaving the website.

KEY TECHNICAL DECISIONS

• Custom Theme vs. Page Builder: I opted for a custom theme to ensure maximum performance and avoid the code bloat often associated with page builders. This resulted in a Google PageSpeed score of 95+.

• Advanced Custom Fields (ACF): ACF was used to create flexible and structured content modules, giving the client powerful editing capabilities in a very simple interface.
